WHAT CAN DIGITAL MOTION X-RAY DO FOR ME?

Does this scenario sound familiar?……the patient’s MRI is normal, standard x-rays have no findings, there is intersegmental hyper/hypomobility, the patient still has pain and you’re stuck trying to prove to the attorney or insurance company that your patient has a soft tissue/whiplash injury from a low speed motor vehicle accident. In as little as 15 minutes, DIGITAL MOTION X-RAY may reveal permanent ligamentous injury commonly missed by other diagnostic procedures. Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) is the best diagnostic imaging tool to objectively demonstrate ligament instability, soft tissue injuries and intersegmental joint dysfunction.

WHAT IS DIGITAL MOTION X-RAY?

Digital Motion X-Ray is a FUNCTIONAL IMAGE. This imaging system is simply a new type of fluoro-based x-ray system, coupled with new digital and optic technology, allowing clinicians to view the spine in real-time motion at 30 x-rays per second. The procedure is performed with the patient standing and actively moving in a weight-bearing position within the system. Each study is recorded to DVD and VHS with the patient performing a series of movements such as: lateral flexion, lateral cervical flexion, oblique flexion/extension, nodding and the swing phase of TMJ motion. The exam can be played back in real time, slow motion or freeze frame. Still images can also be printed and enlarged to any size needed. The radiographic interpretation is read by a board certified radiologist and will include a pathology report and a biomechanical report using digitization (the most accurate method for determining the extent of LMSI {Loss of Motion Segment Integrity}). This study allows you to detect ligamentous subfailure of the 26 ligaments in the cervical spine. As you know, this ligamentous damage can have significant long term consequences for your patients. The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Partial Impairment, 5th Edition, 2001, describes parameters for determining PPI ratings due to LMSI. These ratings can be up to 28% whole person. **Additional Services: For an additional fee, 8 ½ x 11 Still Images including labeled overlays indicating the injured areas with ligamentous tears. This makes it simple for the untrained eye to see the obvious.
